Wave Meter, Class D, No.1 MkII, ZA-14269 Powered from 6 volts this unit was used to preset a Wireless Set No.22 to a designated frequency with a degree of accuracy better than just using the tuning dial of the set itself. The Class D Wave Meter can be used to preset a transmitter or a receiver to a given frequency within the range of 1.9 M/cs to 8.0 M/cs. |

This photo shows the HT power supply on the underside of the chassis. The power supply generates the high voltage by using a 6 volt non-synchronous vibrator to energise a transformer which steps up the voltage from 6 volts to 140 volts, a Selenium rectifier then converts the 140v AC to DC. The DC is then smoothed and filtered and used to power the single valve used in the Wave Meter. |
